Food Is Its Own Language
Exploring the intersection of food with culture and personal identity—especially in regards to Asian food and the globalization of Asian food with immigration and industrialization. The toolkit can be paired with a school potluck and comes with additional discussion questions regarding the content of the slides!
The Impact of Lawmaking on the AAPI Community
Follow the historical and contemporary impacts of lawmaking to the AAPI community with key examples in the American judicial system and real-world examples of activism to strengthen the AAPI and PoC community nationally. The toolkit contains a shortened and extended version with additional talking points and discussions with visuals as well.
How Do AAPI Communities Celebrate Lunar New Year?
Connect the traditional Lunar New Year celebrations of different Asian cultures by understanding how AAPI communities have found unique ways to carry on their culture and customs with the resources available to them in the United States. The toolkit includes concrete examples of the creativity within AAPI communities to celebrate the Lunar New Year as well as descriptions and images of these celebrations and customs—from festivals to food to clothing and more—to be shared anytime or during LNY each year.
